Privacy Policy

Aspire Guides (“we”, “our”) is a step-by-step documentation tool operated by Aspire Hospitality Group. This policy explains what the Aspire Guides web app and the Aspire Guides Chrome extension collect, why, and how it is handled.
What the Chrome extension collects
The extension only collects data while you are actively recording a guide— that is, after you click “Start Recording” and before you click “Stop”. During a recording it captures:
- Screenshots of the browser tab you are recording.
- Click metadata — the position you clicked and contextual labels (button text, aria-labels, placeholders) used to auto-title steps.
- The page URL of each captured step.
When you are not recording, the extension does not read, collect, or transmit page content. It does not track your browsing.
Where your data goes
Captured steps are sent over HTTPS only to your own Aspire Guides workspace at guides.aspirehospitality.com.au, authenticated with your personal API key. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.
Local storage
The extension stores your Aspire Guides API key locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) so you don’t have to re-enter it each session. It never leaves your device except as a bearer token on requests to your workspace. You can clear it any time with the “Replace API key” button.
Account data
When you create an account we store your email address, name, a securely hashed password, and the guides you create. Guides you mark public are accessible to anyone with the share link; private guides are visible only to signed-in members of your workspace.
Data retention & deletion
Guides, steps, screenshots, folders, comments, and activity records persist until you delete them. Deleting a guide removes its steps and screenshots. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the address below.
